I have a 2006 Buick Rainier V8. And when I start the car and it is cold (not been run for 12 hours) the engine fan will blow excessively loud. After a few miles it goes away and the noise is gone...
I had a water pump leak, so I had the pump and the fan clutch replaced, and there is no change whatsoever.. Eventually it quiets down, but it is just irritating.
Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you fix it?
Our 2002 Trailblazer did the same thing, not every time but occasionally, especially with the circumstances you described. As others have stated, I believe it's normal and you don't have anything to worry about
I replaced the fan clutch assembly on my Ram. Its not PCM controlled but does the same thing. It disengages after your temperature starts reaching normal, its all good.
IT just seems backwards to me... Engine cold = no fan, engine hot = fan.
It is not a problem per-se, just drives my wife crazy is all... Especially when you can literally feel the drag of HP when it is running.
Thanks for the help tho...
